Quality-focused New York City roasting company Gotham Coffee Roasters has launched a frisky, furry, buzzy sibling brand called Little Cat Coffee.

Eschewing Gotham’s more buttoned-up black-and-white brand aesthetic for a softer, cuddlier look pronounced by paw pad pink, Little Cat made its official debut last week in advance of the 23rd annual Broadway Barks live adoption event.

The online program, hosted by the incomparable Bernadette Peters, featured a cavalcade of stars of stage and screen in support of pet adoption efforts throughout the nation.

Nigel Slater’s recipe for crumbed aubergines with peppers and fennel | Food

The recipe

Cut 4 medium-sized red peppers in half, then into long, 1cm thick strips. In a heavy, shallow pan, heat 5 tbsp of olive oil, add the peppers, season and add rosemary, then fry over moderate heat, stirring, for about 5 minutes.

Peel and thinly slice 1 clove of garlic and add to the pan. Halve a large bulb of fennel, slice thinly, then add it to the peppers, rosemary and garlic and continue cooking for a good 10 minutes.
