A pair of newlywedded coffee lovers has opened a new home for coffee in the Las Vegas Arts District called Bungalow Coffee Co.
Shannon and Ryan Matson, whose over-the-top engagement involved a mural unveiling last year, officially opened the doors to the 2,500-square-foot shop earlier this summer in a space that was briefly lived in by South Carolina-based C3 Coffee Roasters.
Inside, the Matsons are offering what they believe is the only regular local supply of beans from Arkansas roasting and consulting outfit Onyx Coffee Lab.
Onyx coffees are presently featured through a manual pourover program, while the shop may eventually add other prominent roasters into the mix. Meanwhile, a traditional espresso menu is augmented by specialties such as a shaken rosemary latte or the Bungalow Matcha Latte, featuring whisked matcha, vanilla bean syrup, oat milk and cinnamon-maple powder.
Light bites and lunch entrees include baked goods, toasts with toppings, quiches and breakfast sandwiches such as the English Muffin Breakfast (shaved ham, two eggs, American cheese and raspberry jam on an English muffin) and the Deluxe Croissant (eggs, Swiss cheese, avocado and aoli). The shop also offers panini featuring seasonal ingredients as well as a sharable charcuterie board.
Bungalow is the latest in a spate of new openings in Las Vegas that has turned the former specialty coffee desert into merely a desert. The coffee landscape has become increasingly fertile recently through openings from the likes of Golden Fog, Take It Easy, Gäbi Coffee and Mothership Coffee Roasters.
Bungalow Coffee Co. is now open at 201 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 180, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tell us about your new coffee shop or roastery here.
