Phillipsburg-area Dunkin’ offering free coffee, and a shot at free coffee for a year

The newly remodeled Dunkin’ in Pohatcong Township, featuring the chain’s “Next Gen” approach, is holding a grand opening Thursday morning.

The first 100 guests will receive free coffee for a year, starting at 9 a.m., and guests can also enjoy a free medium hot or iced coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The celebration at the 1312 Route 22 East Dunkin’ in Still Valley will include a Dunkin’-branded prize wheel, an appearance by Dunkin’ mascot Cuppy and additional giveaways, according to a news release.

Update 4 p.m. Wednesday – The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office issued a new warning for the River complex around 2:45 p.m.

Coffee shops face shortages of labor, cups, rising coffee prices

With frost in Brazil disrupting coffee bean production, the price of Arabica coffee beans surged by more than 40% in the past year to more than $2 a pound — a level last experienced in 2014.

The price this month retreated to about $1.91 a pound.

Creature Coffee has recreated itself, evolving from a Texas-focused multiroaster subscription company with one brick-and-mortar retail bar into a wholesale and online specialty coffee roasting company.

“Over the years we have loved trying out coffees from all our friends, and we learned a lot,” Michael Craig, CEO of Creature Coffee, told Daily Coffee News. “Buying high-end specialty coffee can sometimes feel a little ‘samesie’ or even intense, so we wanted to be bright, bold, and fun, and most importantly, approachable.”
